Growing up in rural El Paso county, he attended the Table Rock two room schoolhouse where his mother was the teacher. Starting in 8th grade, he attended high school in Monument, CO graduating from Lewis-Palmer in 1952. It was during his time at the Table Rock school that he met Iris Campbell. They were later married in 1954. Together they welcomed 2 children. They raised their family in the rural El Paso county area. During this time, he was in partnership with his father ranching and farming. He loved the outdoors & working with animals. He was also a journeyman pipe fitter.
Later in life, he & Iris loved to travel in their Airstream trailer. They visited many places on their travels. Eventually they settled in Yuma, AZ for the winter months.
Delmer leaves behind his devoted wife, Iris of 69 years, his daughters Terri Abrahamson of Gillette, WY and Pam Feeney of Monument, CO, his grandsons Gus (Rachel), Max (Lauren), and Mitch (Kim) along with 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gus & Mona Davisson, sister Mona, brother Jack as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Per his request, no services will be held. A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday.
