David N Garske

David normal Garske entered in the presence of the Lord on December 7th, 2024. David peacefully departed this world surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. David was a man of faith, a devoted follower of Christ and will be dearly missed by family, friends, and community.

David was born to Elmer and Janet Garske of Devils Lake, North Dakota on January 28th, 1954. David graduated Devils Lake High School in 1972 and attended college at NDSI in Fargo. David currently resided in monument, Colorado, with his sister Pam, her husband Ben and his niece Amy.

David was known for his love of the great outdoors and lived a fulfilling life amongst God and nature. He loved to hunt, fish and garden, always at peace in nature’s beauty. He positively influenced the Devils Lake and Minnewauken communities through his activities as an EMT and also in Bethel Free Church, bible groups, scouts and his charitable contributions.

His commitment to his family and faith were the cornerstones of his life. David is reunited with his family members in heaven. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer (dad), Janet (mom), Deborah Quiring (sister), Vicky Garske (sister-in-law), two nephews, one niece, and several aunts and uncles.

David is survived by his sisters Pamela Rivera (Ben) and Denise Blegen (Robert; brother, Charles; foreign exchange sister, Patty Vilandre (Ben); and many nieces and nephews.

David had many roles, but his absolute favorite was “Uncle.”

A devoted member of Bethel Free Church, David spent countless hours with his church family, at many events and outreach programs. His unwavering faith was a source of strength not only for himself but also for everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life. He is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. In his light, we find comfort. Res in the pace dearest David.

A celebration of life will take place in the spring, in Devils Lake, to honor his life.
