Daniel Alan Keily, 63 years old passed away on September 28th, in Houston, TX while undergoing treatment at MD Anderson. He was surrounded by love from his wife and daughters and he passed with his brother, Bob Keily by his side. Dan grew up a military child living all over the world before finally settling in Austin, TX. He met his wife, Tara Keily in Round Rock, TX and after a year of marriage, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO where they have been living for the past 14 years. In Colorado Springs, Dan was a member of a camping club and loved camping in the summers in Colorado. He also loved the mountains and taking company to Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. He loved traveling with his wife and taking family vacations. Some of his favorite destinations were Florida, California and Hawaii! He loved to fish especially deep- sea fishing.
Dan is survived by his wife, Tara Keily, his mother, Elaine Keily, his father, Keith Keily, his five children: Jessica (Keily) Acosta, Eric Keily, Cody Schurch, Andrea (Schurch) Frank, Brandon Schurch and 9 grandchildren: Jayden, Adyson, Logan, Eric Jr., Gunner, Rowan, Brixton, Myles and Asher. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim Keily and Bob Keily and nieces and nephews.
Dan loved his family and especially enjoyed being a “Popo” to all of his grandchildren. He was the one that put all the toys together and always had batteries ready for all the toys! He was a great friend, always willing to help someone out when needed. Dan worked for Oakwood Homes as a Warranty liaison, where his clients loved him and found him to be so helpful, caring and patient. He really cared for his clients and tried to do everything possible to ensure that their home was to their satisfaction.
He is loved by so many family members, friends and colleagues and we will all miss him deeply. As the grandchildren say “he will always live in our hearts”! In life, he touched so many, more than he ever realized. Each of us are better people for having Dan as a husband, father, Popo, brother, son and friend!
