Dale was born May 10,1927 in Earlton, KS to Neal Robertson Smith and Irene Mae Clower Smith. Dale graduated from Neosho Jr and Sr High Schools in 1947. Shortly after he moved with his family to Colo Spgs, CO. He started working for Walgreen Drug Co. He then served his country in the US Army as a map maker during the Korean Conflict for two years. He married Joyce Lavonne George Smith September 16, 1951in Denver, CO. He returned to work for Walgreen Drug Co as a food manager for 35 years. He worked in Denver, CO, Colo Spgs, CO, El Paso, TX and Beaumont, TX. After retiring from Walgreens he was employed by WalMart in Beaumont, TX for 15 years. Joyce passed away June 21, 1997. He married Beverly Ann Tanner Smith May 9, 1998 in Beaumont, TX.
He and Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior during a tent revival in Denver, CO. He was ordained as a deacon at First Baptist Church Security Widefield, Security, CO. He also served as a deacon at Pine Burr Baptist Chur ch, Beaumont, TX.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Joyce, his brothers, Chester Cleo Smith, of Ft. Collins, CO, and Lester Leo Smith, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. His sister Opal Marie Smith Brannock, of Waynesboro, VA.
Dale is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home, his son Dale Jr and his wife Connie of M idland , TX, his daughters Sandra Johnson and her husband Don of Borger, TX and Sharol Smith of Colo Spgs, CO his grandsons, Chad Johnson and his wife Amber of Pampa, TX, Stephen Smith and his wife Shannon of Big Springs, TX, Matthew Smith of Midland, TX, his granddaughter Amber and her husband Justin of Wills Point, TX. He has four great granddaughters Rylie Johnson of Weatherford, OK, Ashtyn Johnson of Pampa, TX, Bailey and Landry Guy of Wills Point, TX. He is also survived by sisters in law Janet Smith of Rolling Hills Estates, CA, and Marjorie Smith of Ft Collins, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
