Charley was born in Flint, Michigan on September 26, 1938 and passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 18, 2018. He graduated from Michigan State University.
He made many contributions to the community through his life and was a past member of the following Associations; Chairman Pageant Parade of the Rockies, Various positions with the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Colorado and Colorado Springs Restaurant Associations, Chairman of the Advisory Board on Food Technology at Pikes Peak Community College, Board member of Silver Key Senior Services, Vice President of Jaycees of East Lansing, Michigan, National Restaurant Association, American School Food Service Association, Food Service Executives Association, National Association of College and University Food Service Supervisors (NACUFS), Chefs De Cuisine Association, Michigan, California and Colorado School Food Service Associations and the Colorado and California School Business Officials Associations. He was a proud recipient of the National Food Service Industry Silver Plate Award. He and his wife owned and operated Meadow Muffins for 10 years. He was Head of the Hill Climb for 10 years, a member of the “Over the Hill Gang”, and was instrumental in the building of the Hill Climb Museum. He was also inducted into the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Hall of Fame.
Charley is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maggie, son Chuck (Kory), daughter Beth, brother Bill and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barb and Charley Tutt, brother-in-law Bob Clifford, sister-in-law Lyn Clifford and “Mac”. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
