Charles “Charlie” L. Andrews, 88, passed away November 17, 2010 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born May 17, 1922 in Yonkers, New York son of Lyman S. and Anna Marie (McEvoy) (Donoghue) Andrews, who preceded him in death.
Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by AT&T and retired after 40+ years of service.
He is survived by his son, Charles; James (Glinda) and Lawrence (Nancy) Andrews; his daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” (Ken) Murphy and Ann Marie Steinbaugh; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy C. Andrews and one brother, Lawrence L. Andrews.
Charlie enjoyed baseball, playing bridge and teaching math.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Advantage Chapel of Memories, 875 S. Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow immediately. Private family burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
