She was the beloved wife of 66 years to H.O. Chapman Jr. ("Bud"). Betty graduated from Topeka High and Washburn University where she was a Delta Gamma and met her lifelong sweetheart through her sorority sister, Jane Chapman, Bud's sister.
Betty is survived by her husband and 5 children: Christy Owen, Kim Morrill, Tom Chapman and Sam Chapman of Denver and Lisa Wheeler of Evanston, IL, 12 grand children and 6 great-grand children.
Betty and Bud raised their family in Topeka, Kansas and divided time during retirement between Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado and The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Arizona. They loved to play golf and bridge, and travelled extensively with friends and family. Even in the final days of her life,
Betty displayed an incredible zeal for life and a great sense of humor. Betty will be forever remembered for her beauty, unmistakable laughter and contagious giggles, incredible fashion sense and enviable wardrobe, and for her devotion and unconditional love of her family.
A visitation will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado Friday, October 9, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.. A Memorial Celebration will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Garden of Gods Club, 3320 Mesa Road, Colorado Springs at 2:00 p.m..
