Carolyn "Pepper" was born in Clarinda, IA, to Lowell Deane and Evelyn Ruth Hixson, on April 18,1952. She grew up in Englewood, CO and graduated from Englewood High School. She always said her life resembled a "Coat of Many Colors". She was a gypsy at heart and never stayed in one place too long. She could make any house a home and made life an adventure. Carolyn was a wealth of knowledge, believed in the old ways and was always willing to share what she learned in life. She had a passion for caregiving, raising critters and spending time with her family and friends. She took pride in being called "Momma, Ba, and Gma." A dear friend described her as " a force to be reckoned with, who loved as fiercely as she lived."
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Deane Hixson and Evelyn Ruth Hixson, Grandparents, Eddie and Alma Geer and Lavetta Root, and former Son-in-law, Trent McMaster.
She is survived by her daughters, Karrie Dean and Darci Harris, Son-in-law, Rory Dean, former Son-in-law, Rodd Dean, Brothers, Darrell and Cathy Hixson, Ed Hixson, and Rick Hixson, Grandchildren, Ryker, Dallas and Reva, Asher and Ann, Traser, Dyllan and Maryanna, Dorothy, Justin, Tawney and Josh, Talyn and Kennady, Great Grandson, Wesley and many loved nieces and nephews.
Her wishes were to be cremated, with no services, and her ashes spread on a warm summer day. Please celebrate her life, love and shenanigans by leaving a memory for her family and loved ones to read, here on this site. Thank you all for being a part of her journey.
