Carol Ann Hickey

Carol A. Hickey, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on 31 January 2016 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on 3 January, 1954 in Middleport, New York, to Blair Fleming and Gertrude Hickey.

Carol lived most of her life in the Western New York area, before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida in September of 2000. She lived in Florida for almost 15 years, then moved in with her daughter and family in April 2015.

Family and friends were extremely important to Carol. She comes from a large extended family scattered across the country and southern Canada. Carol enjoyed family trips to the beach, going to the movies, going out for breakfast, country music, and lilacs. Her favorite activity was traveling every Christmas to see her two precious grandchildren.

She leaves behind wonderful memories and loved ones including; her daughter Michelle Mattice (Jason) currently stationed in Colorado Springs, two grandchildren, Richard and Allie, her “Sunshine Sister” Cindy Prentice (Bob) of Angola, New York, brothers Frank Hickey of Las Vegas Nevada and Kirk Gromoll of Alabama, as well as a host wonderful friends.

A private family visitation will take place on Friday, 5 February at Swan-Law Funeral Directors in Colorado Springs. A celebration of life will be schedule for late spring/early summer 2016 in Western New York.
