Barbara M. Clark, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday November 4th, 2016. She was born in Niles, CA (which is now a part of Fremont) on October 9th, 1926 as the first of three children to Manuel and Beatrice Maciel. Her early life was lived during The Great Depression but she made the most of it with her best friend and sister, Betty. The family was complete several years later with the addition of her brother Gary to the family. During the last days of World War II Barbara met her soon to be husband, Donald Clark. After a short time in Michigan, they decided to move to the Los Angeles area to start a family. The family began with the birth of daughter, Lisa. After ten years of waiting for another child came the birth of son, Boyd who was followed by Scott less than three years later. Devoted to her children, Barbara was very active in their after school sports and other activities, which brought her great joy. As they grew older she returned to the workforce and the happiest place for her was working at Nordstrom with her son Boyd for over 10 years. Upon retiring, Barbara moved to Colorado Springs to move in with her daughter Lisa. There Barbara spent more time with her grandchildren Cody and Macey, and in recent years her great grandchildren Elijah and Jeremiah. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. You can find them at alz.org.
