Ann P. Curtis

She was born September 30, 1930 in Andalusia, Alabama to Henry W. Peacock and Shirley Gibson. For 24 years she was married to Thomas “Tom” H. Curtis with whom she had two children: Hank Curtis of Colorado Springs and Pamela Nelson of San Antonio, Texas.

She is survived by six grandchildren: Lindsey and Bryce Curtis, Sabrina, Brittany, Holly and Hannah Nelson. Grace Franklin of Andalusia, Alabama is her only surviving sibling.

Ann attended The Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon graduation she then joined The United States Air Force where she earned the rank of Captain. She was very active in the Air Force Community Wives club(s) and actively supported the MIA’s during overseas conflicts. Once honorably discharged from the USAF, she began her career as an Air Force Fighter Pilot’s wife and a mother of two.

Ann continued her nursing career with many years of service at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs; Humana Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Humana Hospital in Destin, Florida where she finally retired before moving back to Colorado Springs.

Ann had a very colorful personality and diction to go with it. She could use both to make her views understood as she often did. She was also an avid, accomplished golfer and it was one of her favorite past times. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and was an excellent cook.

A private memorial service will be held at a time and place to be announced. The family would like to thank the staff of Pikes Peak Care and Rehab Center for their professionalism and dignity in there care for Ann.

Ann will be missed by many. One always had a good story to tell after a visit with her.
