Alan Forrest Boyd, 51, died October 24, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at 1pm, November 2, 2018, at the Stone Chapel, Woodman Valley Chapel – Rockrimmon Campus, 290 E. Woodman in Colorado Springs. Reception with family to follow at the same location.
Alan was born on September 16, 1967 in Petersburg, Virginia to James A. and Gail Harris Boyd. He and his family moved to the Colorado Springs area in 1984, where he was a 1985 graduate of Doherty High School. Alan is survived by his wife of 14 years, Sally Nelan Boyd, their son Aidan, his parents James and Gail, brother James R. Boyd and wife Robyn, sister Jennifer Boyd Webb and husband Brad, and his longtime friend Russell Negaard. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews - Stephanie Boyd, Colin Webb, Ian Webb, Cavan Nelan, Cade Nelan, Keeley Moore, and Mimi Moore. He is preceded in death by his sister, Cassandra Boyd Riechman. Alan was a talented artist and an avid soccer fan. He enjoyed the time he spent hunting and telling campfire stories at the Coal Mine Ranch in west Texas, and he was the tallest and proudest member of the Boo’s Crew team at the annual CSDSA Buddy Walk.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions made in Alan’s memory to the Colorado Springs Down Syndrome Association.
