She was born in Colorado City on December 2, 1935, to William Warren and Velma Ester Blasingame Anderson.
Wilma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who spent as much time as she could doing things with and for her family, supporting them every step of the way wherever life took them. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Wilma was very active in her community. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, on the Board of Directors for the Heritage House in the Garden Club, a member of the Museum, and spent her life serving her community as a teacher molding many young minds. When she was not busy with her career or family, Wilma enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, entertaining guests, and always had a great sense of style. Wilma’s legacy will live on as she has instilled so much knowledge in so many people over the years.
Wilma met her husband Jerry at McMurry College in the 1950’s. After marriage, they enjoyed long careers as educators, making lifelong friends along the way. Post retirement, they spent many years traveling the United States in their RV with her sister and brother-in-law Era and Dick Richey. The teacher in Wilma never faded as she played school with her grandchildren Brooke and Jarrod during their summer breaks.
Wilma is survived by her husband Jerry Reynolds of Colorado City, son Austin “Blake” Reynolds and his wife Heather of Willow Park, and by grandchildren Jarrod Reynolds, Brooke Reynolds, Luke Lashley, Aubrey Taggart and husband Parker, Shelly Gibson and husband Zac, and her sister Era Richey of San Angelo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Warren Anderson and sisters Geneva Killiam and Irene Ritchey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Diabetes Association as Wilma lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was 21 years old.
A graveside service for Wilma will be held on May 20, 2023, at 10:00 am in the Colorado City Cemetery with Sterling Burleson officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
