He was born in Loraine on August 25, 1951 to the late Alfred Adolph and Melba Edell Hagood Hackfeld.
Stan was a good loving family man who worked hard to provide for and teach his family valuable life lessons. He was a graduate of Loraine High in 1969, then went on to further his education at Texas Tech in 1973 where he got his higher education on a rodeo scholarship. In his youth he was an exceptional football player, but his love for animals steered him in a different direction. Throughout his life he held many jobs from being a professional rodeo man, being a farmer, and rancher and driving heavy equipment for Mitchell County in Loraine. He was a true Cowboy at heart, spent his life doing stock shows, first as a youth then as a stock show parent and grandparent. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys, tending to his garden, making road trips to Oklahoma and Nevada and practicing being a home-body to be with the family he loved so much. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and his big smile and love for family will be cherished for life.
Stan is survived by his wife DeLynn Hackfeld, by his daughters Lauren Collier and husband Will of Snyder, Laci Halfmann and husband Tyler of Wall, and Erin French and husband Jason of Snyder, by a step-daughter Nicole Calagna and husband Mark of McKinney, and by a stepson Cody Reeves of Houston. He is also survived by grandchildren Jax, Tymrie, Jagger, Stockton, Sutton, Madix, Eli, Colby, Kylie, Macayla, Bentley, Torry, Brice, and Braden, by a brother Keith Hackfeld and wife Jackie of Weatherford and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a granddaughter Paityn.
