Robert Ernest McMillan

Robert Ernest McMillan passed away October 3, 2023. He was raised in the Fairview Community of Mitchell County. Robert was the oldest son of Weldon and Edna McMillan. He was a 1973 graduate of Colorado City High School and was a member of the Wolf Band for four years.

Robert joined the Navy in 1977. He was trained as a molder and served on the USS Dixie and USS McKee. Robert received multiple Bronze Stars, several meritorious commendations, good conduct awards and marksmanship awards for M14 and Rifle. He was honorable discharged in1993.

Robert worked for security companies in Abilene, TX until his retirement. He was a resident of Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Veterans Home for the last two years.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother Edna Pearl Joiner McMillan and his father Weldon E. McMillan. He is survived by four brothers, Kelvin McMillan of Marietta, Oklahoma, Karlton McMillan of May Texas, Kerry Klay McMillan of Colorado City Texas, Kraig McMillan of Elbert Texas and two sisters. Karalee Green of Blackwell Texas, Kristie McMillan of Floydada Texas with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at Handley Cemetery Monday October 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service is provided by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Robert always had a good story to tell you and he will be missed.
