She was born in Colorado City on March 11, 1935 to Jackson Bruce Hart and Mabel Edmondson Hart. Louise married the love of her life Paul L Crenshaw on September 5, 1954 in Andrews, Texas. After graduating from CHS Class of 1953 Louise attended Baylor and Texas Tech before starting her life journey as a wife and mother, two titles that she held proudly until her favorite title of grandmother/great-grandmother was received. After becoming a grandmother she went back to school to further her education, attending the University of Texas in Arlington. In her younger years her husband Paul worked for oil well service companies which made it so that they frequently moved living in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, moving back to Colorado City into her old home after her husband’s passing in 1997. In her child-raising years she enjoyed going to church every Wednesday and Sunday with family, going camping, and going to scouting functions. She was known for her green thumb and seamstress abilities, sewing by hand or machine and making phenomenal quilts. Family and friends were very important to her and she stayed in touch with her extended McCarley and Hart Families in Mitchell County and with the BlueBonnet Girls+ Bill Worrell. McCarley Reunions, Mitchell County Reunions and family get-togethers were happy functions for her, as she always seemed to take delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who put that special sparkle in her eye.
Louise is survived by her sons Paul Michael Crenshaw of Lafayette Louisiana and Stephen Bruce Crenshaw and wife Sandra Sagerty-Crenshaw of Wichita Kansas, by a daughter Catherine Louise Sheffield and husband Ken of Flower Mound, by grandchildren Shanna, Carlie, Joel, Travis, Wes, Jacob, Rebecca, and Ryan, and by great-grandchildren Mallory, Reese, Lance, Lilleigh, Presley, John, Sarah, Adam, Austin, Makenzie, Lily, Taylor, Harper, and Alexandria. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Louise Hart of Anchorage Alaska and her two sons, and by a host of extended family members including Matt, Steve, Caroline, Andra, Whitney and Liz. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Edmondson Hart, her father Bruce Hart, stepmother Mary Post Hart, her husband Paul L Crenshaw, a daughter Elizabeth Leigh Gregory, and by her brother Jasper Hart.
A graveside service for Louise will be held in the Colorado City Cemetery on Friday, October 25th at 1pm under the direction of Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
