He was born in Waco Texas on November 11, 1947 to Dan and Oletha Davis Emerson.
Everyone that knew Donald knew that he was a hard-working family man, who loved everyone he met. Donald spent most of his life driving truck and fixing vehicles, working hard to provde for his family. He was known by almost everyone in town and loved by just as many people. Donald was a big proponent of disciplining children when they didn’t listen up until the great-great grandchildren came along as they could do no wrong. As a neighbor you knew that his door was always open, whether you needed a hand from him or if it was just to watch your home while you were away because he was the neighborhood watchman. Donald was very skillful with his hands and could fix almost anything from cars to lawnmowers. He would oftentimes be seen taking care of his property, mowing at the graveyard or at the church or making a mean barbeque, singing and joking around as he was doing it. Donald had the type of voice that carried and a sense of humor that would make you smile no matter your mood. He was truly the best husband and dad a child could have and an even finer grandfather. In his spare time he enjoyed helping family and friend’s alike, playing solitaire, listening to and recording music, watching action movies and cooking shows and just kicking back and enjoying his free time. Those that knew Donald will cherish the many memories made, and lessons taught will be passed for generations to come.
