David Smith, age 32, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 27,2014, in a Lubbock hospital. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with Revs. Claudine and Larry Chaney officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care of Kiker-Seal Funeral home.
David was born September 11, 1981 in Arlington, Tx to Wesley and Linda Looper Smith and had been a long time resident of Colorado City. He was a butcher for HEB in Big Spring. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Order of the Arrow and a Christian. David was a hard worker and had a simple warming character. He loved and was loved by all his family and friends. Proverbs 3:5
He is survived by his mother, Linda Smith of Port Aransas; his father, Wesley and wife, Debbie Smith of Fresno; his fiancé, Tiffany Sohrweid, of Big Spring; children, Morgan, Lily, and Aidan of Big Spring; two sisters, Heidi and husband, Justin Harris of Colorado City and Brooke and husband, Tim Atkins of Pleasanton; his maternal grandmother, Jimmie Looper of Port Aransas; his paternal grandmother, Addie Smith and her friend, Nathaniel "DOC' Gray of Colorado City; nieces, Taylor and Taegen Harris and Colbi Atkins; nephews Reid Harris and Tripp Atkins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Merle Looper; and his paternal grandfather, Eldon Smith.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at the funeral home.
