Charles Ralph Dockrey

Mr. Charles R Dockrey, age 85, of Colorado City, died Thursday, September 10, 2015, in a local hospital. Services will be at 2 Pm Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Colorado City with Rev. Larry McAden officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.

Charles was born June 21, 1930 in Colorado City to James Oscar and Sadie Miller Dockrey and had been a lifelong resident. He married Betty Frances Morris on July 8, 1951 in Colorado City. He was retired from farming and ranching in Mitchell County and a member of the First Baptist Church in Colorado City.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Dockrey of Colorado City; 2 daughters, Rhonda and husband, Thomas May of Hermleigh and Latisha Dockrey of Colorado City; 2 sons: Rodney and wife, Sharon Dockrey and Bruce and Marsha Dockrey, all of Colorado City; 2 sisters: Mary Ethel Garrett of Pasadena, TX and Lucille Dee of Austin, TX; 5 grandchildren: Jody and husband, John Chaney, Jamie and husband, Kyle Hammond, Tabatha and husband Jason Stone, Lacy and husband, Blake Oden and Bryant and wife, Sandy Roberson; and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Brad Dockrey, brother, J. O. Dockrey and a sister, Louise Valdez.

The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
