He was born on March 6, 1935 in Spur, Texas to Judson Harmon Kimmel and Dixie Odell Woodson Kimmel.
Bobby was a true man of God who lived to serve his Lord and provide for his family. At a young age he embarked on a life-long journey of owning several businesses, including Colorado Lumber which he owned and operated for many years. He also joined his brothers in owning Midwestern Services in Snyder. Some of his other ventures included owning a small grocery store, building homes and businesses in the Colorado City area. Bobby was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Colorado City. He was a Trustee, Sunday school teacher, and served on the Buildings and Grounds committee. Bobby participated in the several local ministeries such as Gideons, Emmaus, Kairos and served in the Prison Ministry. He saw the needs of people and did his best to meet these needs. One way he did this was by purchasing and assisting in the renovating of what is now Samaritan Hospitality House. The later portion of his life was dedicated to this endeavor. He spent many years leading people to Christ through his ministries. He was the true definition of a prayer warrior and had some of the most beautiful prayers. He was not afraid to speak of his faith to anybody and is proud to have led many to Christ. Some of his greatest loves was spending time with family. Whether playing dominoes, teaching them to use their hands, or just discussing the Lord he was always ready with a smile. He loved teaching his grandkids how to plant gardens and build things.
Bobby is survived by his wife June Kimmel who he married on December 30, 1986. He had four sons Mark Kimmel and wife Valinda of Keller, Stephen Kimmel and wife Sherette of Ft. Worth, Daren Flippo and wife Jennifer of Phoenix, Az, and Douglas Flippo and wife Donna of Big Spring. He also has four daughters Janice Warren of Sudan, Dawn Vincent and husband Britt of Marble Falls, Anne Scamardo of Cypress, and Diane Calcote and husband Scott of Colorado City. He is also survived by his 19 loving grandchildren; Paige, Stephanie, Andrew, Michael, Ashley, Megan, Kenna, Mica, Rebecca, Seraiah, Savannah, Zane, Jaci, Victoria, Adriel, Mayah, Krista, Hannah, and Rachel, and by 15 great-grandchildren; Eleanor, Owen, Gavin, Porter, Grace, Judson, Shepherd, Asher, Jack, Laken, Everett, Grady, Mia, Finlee, and Levi, as well as by 2 brothers Tommy Kimmel and wife Julie of Kingsland and Philip Kimmel of Dickinson, and by a sister Dixie Lee Burns of Granbury.
