Pamela Horvath

Pamela Kay Horvath is at peace and will continue her life’s work through our memories. Prayers answered, her suffering ended, God called her back to party with Don, Shirley, Helen, Bud, John, Keith, Chris, Linda, and many waiting for her.

Pam, born in Mifflintown, PA, on July 13, 1951 to Donald and Shirley Houtz, was the most thoughtful, kind and selfless individual that one could ever meet. True to her name, she was full of “honey and sweetness” and blessed with the “Gift of Gab.” A consummate counselor to friends and family, one could meet her for the first time and quickly share personal stories or troubles. Treasuring their uniqueness, Pam found purpose and value in everyone and everything and she held them close.

In addition to a warm personality Pam had many talents, including Hair Styling and Cosmetology, with licenses in NJ and PA. After graduating from George Washington High School in Philadelphia, Pam learned her craft at the Paul Mitchell Hair and Beauty School. She was one of Paul’s invited participants at the 1970 International Beauty Show in Manhattan.

As a single Mom raising two sons, Pam worked at the Oregon Avenue Philly Pathmark first in the Pharmacy then front-line checkout. Although Anthony, and Chris were always front and center, she, in addition, continued to service private hair and beauty customers, often making “House Calls” and selling Mary Kay cosmetics.

Meeting this beautiful person over 28 years ago, her husband was blessed with his soulmate in a loving and serene marriage, living in Woodlynne, NJ. Their wedding bands are inscribed with Pam and Steve’s mantra, “Always.” Pam welcomed, loved, and respected his 3 children, Kim, Heather, and Chris. Illustrating her humorous side, she jokingly referred to herself as the “Evil Step-Mother.”

Pam is survived by her soulmate Steve, her children Chris, Anthony and spouse Andrea, and siblings Denie, Denny and spouse Nancy, Suzie and Cheryl and spouse Ernie, and a host of grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Maya Angelou described Pam’s beautiful spirit in her words: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, people will never forget how you made them feel".
