Shocked is a good word for how I felt when Ronnie told me of Uncle John.  What an incredible family you are and how lucky for you to have had Uncle John as a husband and father.  I wish I could take the hurt away but when someone as special as him has been in your lives it would be hard to do.  Sending you love, hugs and prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about Uncle John's passing.  It is truly unthinkable.  We will cherish our memories of him forever.  Our summers together in Ocean City were amazing.  Every time I see The Three Stooges, Jaguar cars, or Jiff Peanut butter, I'll think of Uncle John.  Even though we aren't there physically, our spirits are with you. We love you all!

Ruth: I just this moment learned news of John's passing. I most certainely would have attended the viewing this evening.
It really doesn't seem that long ago that I was honored to be the best man for your wedding at that quaint church on Ludlow St. in Philadelphia. My I do wish I had met up with you two as planned when I missed John's surprise 75th.  You and family have my most sincere and heartfelt condolences.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss of John, such a wonderful father, husband and person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our heart goes out to the Melian family on the loss of my "brother" of 48 years.  We were happy to see John and Ruth on our most recent visit East, and delighted a few years ago on their visit to the Southwest, when we were able to show them "our Arizona".  Always eager to learn, John was fascinated to tour the hundreds-of-years-old pueblo of a friend of ours, atop one of the Hopi Mesas. Just one more experience that we shared over the years.

John will live in our hearts forever.

Dearest Ruth, Dave, and Lisa, and all your family, we of the New Covenant Ministries are deeply moved in spirit in hearing of John graduating to glory... certainly our loss until we meet him again at the resurrection of the just! John has always supported the ministry at every turn, and has faithfully been a great part of the Camden street ministry, especially during the annual Christmas Eve Day event. He has made many decisions that helped the ministry behind the scenes and never sought any glory for himself, but only glory for the gospel and kingdom of Jesus Christ. We look forward to the Day when our Lord and Savior says to John, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21.) We will miss him dearly!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and may the Holy Spirit give you comfort and peace in your time of sorrow and loss. Amen.
