Mr. Lytle was born February 19, 1939 in Chambersburg, PA to the late David Clair and Kathleen Margaret Little Lytle. He was graduated from St. Thomas Township High School, Class of 1957, and from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, Class of 1962, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, where he was a member of the Delta Phi fraternity. He also attended Mercersburg Academy between high school and college.
He began a career in accounting with Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY and retired in 1997 as a plant accountant with SKF Industries after working at both the Altoona, PA and Hanover, PA manufacturing sites. He moved to Memphis to be near a daughter in early 2012. He served in the U. S. Army Reserve in the 60s.
Mr. Lytle enjoyed camping and boating with friends and family; he was also interested in trains and American history. He volunteered with Junior Achievement of Blair County in the 80s.
Mr. Lytle is survived by three daughters, Margaret K. Lowitzer (James), Rebecca L. Kraftson (Torry), and Elizabeth L. Napoli (Michael); a son, Charles E. Lytle; a brother, Richard C. Lytle (Jacque); a sister, Susan Rosenberry (Ron); and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg PA. Interment at Fairview Cemetary will follow. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
