Philip Wayne "Tex" Shaw

Hot Springs - Philip “Tex” Wayne Shaw, 68, of Hot Springs, AR passed away February 25, 2013. He was born in Memphis Tennessee May 20, 1944 to Don and Honey Shaw. Tex Shaw’s visitation will be held Saturday March 2, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. and service will be Sunday at 2 p.m., all at Collierville Funeral Home in Collierville TN. Interment will take place in Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville TN. Tex graduated from Collierville High School in 1962 and he attended the Citadel and Memphis State University. Phil was manager of Y-97 country music radio station for greater than 25 years; he retired in 2008 after suffering a heart attack. In 2009 Phil married Helen Rice and moved to Hot Springs Arkansas where he resided at the time of his unexpected death. Phil is survived by his wife Helen Rice of Hot Springs ARK, mother Honey Shaw of Collierville, daughter and son in law Jenni (Sid) Shaw Tidmore and granddaughter Megan Dawn Tidmore of Arab, Alabama, brother and sister in law Punch (Julie Hedden) Shaw, “chosen” brother and sister in law Richard (Julie) Petrowski and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
