Miner grew up in Baton Rouge, attending school in the LA school system and LSU. Gerald and Miner
were transferred to Memphis, Tennessee where they raised their girls. As Gerald was promoted in
Koppers, they were transferred to Pittsburgh in 1974. Miner was a long time member of the Southern
Club there, and was chairman of the Presentation Ball in 1977. They came back to Memphis in
retirement to be near their girls. Miner served on several committees at her church and enjoyed
attending the social events there. She was in the Mertice Foster Circle and Gilbert Sunday School.
Miner enjoyed a full and happy life. She and Gerald traveled extensively, collecting antiques along
the way. Miner was an avid bridge player and played in several groups where she made many close
friends. Miner loved decorating and made a beautiful home. Miner was a talented painter and
quilter, and her family now cherishes her beautiful creations. She adored her little dog Josie, who
was her constant companion. She loved making many fond memories and traditions for her family by
hosting annual holidays. Her biggest enjoyment was being with her adoring husband and her children
and grandchildren. Her daughters were holding her hand at the end, and gave her hand to Gerald,
the love of her life.
Miner was always the epitome of southern grace, charm, and beauty by all who knew and loved her.
