Marvin is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Hyon Suk Cayet (Kim), sons Brady Cayet, Tim Cayet, daughter Nicole Hairhoger, sister Terry Sherwood-Cary (Cayet), brother-in-law Ken Cary, grandchildren Jayden Neiman, Margot Daberkow, Katja Hairhoger, and nephews Donovan Sherwood, Dustin Sherwood, and Steve Beakes. He is also survived by his aunt Sandy Cayet (Schultz), cousins Cindy Bracken-Fedele, Louis Cayet, Robert Cayet, Tony Schultz, and Keith Schultz.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Nellie Bracken, John David Bracken, Leo Cayet, and Rosalie Cayet, parents Raymond Cayet, Dorothy Cayet (Bracken), sisters Vicki Valderrama (Cayet), Deborah Atkins (Cayet), uncles Louis Francis Cayet, Junior Bracken and JD Bracken.
Marvin was a loving and devoted husband, Hyon's best friend. He was also an incredible father, and raised his children to carry forward values of compassion, strength, dependability, and hard-work. These values were ingrained into his being, and made many friends throughout his life. He was known to be a jokester, having a natural ability to lighten the mood anywhere he went. Marvin enjoyed his hobbies, most notably riding his motorcycle and tinkering in the garage. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his love with canine companion, Ivie. Marvin is a United States Army veteran of 21 years, deployed abroad, accepted to the elite 160th Special Operations Airborne Regiment, and earning the non-commissioned officer rank of First Sargent. As a civilian, he would later serve the Memphis area as a service advisor in the car industry, earning a reputation for providing best-in-class customer service. Through all things in life, he did so with honesty and integrity.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Collierville Funeral Home (3863 Bailey Station Rd, Collierville, TN 38017). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 ay 2:00 PM at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125).
Marvin was loved by many, and he will be deeply missed.
