Jamie Alene Gatewood McGill, 80, resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday October 26, 2022. Originally from Middleton, Tennessee, she was a graduate of Grand Junction High School. She spent her career in the investment banking business, retiring from Union Planters Investment Banking Group as a Vice President. After retirement, she enjoyed her hobbies of Bible study, flower gardening, photography, and grandchildren. She spent twenty-plus years in Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study as a student and serving in various leadership positions. Jamie was a faithful member of Germantown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin Gatewood and Iona Chiles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Ewart McGill, whom she married in Memphis, Tennessee on September 1, 1963. A son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jamie McGill, and grandchildren, Hayes Michael and Bryn Elizabeth McGill, whom she dearly loved, also survive her. Jamie is also survived by three brothers and their spouses: Wayne and Dorothy Gatewood, Middleton, Tennessee; Jerry and Linda Gatewood, Middleton, Tennessee; and Jimmy and Phyllis Gatewood, Olive Branch, Mississippi; plus many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive guests at Collierville Funeral Home, Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W Poplar Avenue, Collierville, Tennessee. Interment will be at West Memorial Cemetery, 6230 Saulsbury Road, Saulsbury, Tennessee at 2:00 p.m.
