Charles L. "Charlie" Huff, 78, of Collierville, TN, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home. Mr. Huff was a U.S. Navy Veteran where he served as a photographer on the U.S.S. Ranger. He retired from the Memphis Police Department where he served from 1963-1995 in a variety of units, including K-9, helicopter squad, robbery squad, organized crime unit and an original member of the TACT unit. He joined the Germantown Police Department in 1998 as a detective and served until 2003. A true conservative patriot, he was loved by all. Mr. Huff put God and Jesus first, his family, then his country. Charlie's sidekick/mini-me was his grandson Bryson Huff, who was the apple of his eye. Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Rosilee Huff and his brother, Billy Huff. He is survived by his wife, Kay Huff, his three sons, Chris Huff (Christie), Ben Huff (Anna), and Clayton Huff, four grandchildren, Beth, Gunar, Abby, and Bryson, and three great-grandchildren, Toby, Solveig, and Vera. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 12-2pm with the funeral service following at 2pm, all at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Ave. Collierville. Interment will take place at a later date at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
