A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 1-3 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the viewing at 3:00pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment to follow services at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Bob was born in Hamilton, Texas to Arvil and Katherine Woodard. He was the oldest of three children. He grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Reagan High School and later the University of Houston. As a young man, he joined the United States Air Force and enjoyed a long, successful career as a fighter pilot within the organization. During his time with the Air Force Reserves, he became a pilot for American Airlines and had a very rewarding 28-year career with them.
Bob loved to travel and to try all sorts of food, see all of the new attractions, and then to share of his experiences with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, but above all, he loved to fly. Bob was also a lifetime member of the American Legion. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Katherine Woodard, and his son Gary Woodard.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jimmie, his daughter Susan Woodard Crain, son Robert Woodard, daughter Vickie Woodard and daughter Kacy Bergman; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Jack Woodard and his wife Donna, brother Dan Woodard and his wife Cinda; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many close friends
