Teddy Wayne Reeves was born on March 31, 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas. Ted grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, had 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. He joined the Marine Corp while in High School where he played bass drum in the Corps band and would march in parades around Kansas City. Ted had various jobs until he joined the U.S Air Force, where he served for 4 years as a Crew Chief for the B-29 Superfortress. During his time in the military, he met and married Nona Faye Russell. They had 3 children, 3 grandchildren and were married for 40 years. Several years after Nona passed away, Ted married Donna Kelly and were married for 20 years.
Ted spent his career in aerospace at Martin Marietta in Colorado and then moved to Texas where he retired from Bell Helicopter after 25 years. After retirement Ted enjoyed being with his family, playing golf, and traveling the world. He enjoyed cruises and snorkeled with Manta Rays in Hawaii. He even flew in a hot air balloon. Ted enjoyed life! He greatly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed keeping up with their lives.
Ted was a gift to us all as a Husband, Dad, Uncle, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, mentor, role model and lived his life for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ted is survived by his wife Donna, son Michael Reeves and his wife Vikki their 2 children Marcus and Anastasia, daughter Cyndy Walters and husband Gary, daughter Nancy Lewis and husband Steve, granddaughter Jennifer McCullough and husband Bruce, their 2 sons Nicholas and Blake, grandson Preston, granddaughter Megan and husband Trevor, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
