Robert was a great friend we had many good times together over the years. God bless him and may he Rest In Peace. 

I will always remember Robert for the trust he had in me when I came over to manage the Pretreatment group.  Robert and I came up through the same paths, we had much in common.  Robert loved life... and he believed one should live it to the fullest all the time...even at work.  He once told me a story which made me laugh so hard, I cried....No one could tell a story like Robert, and he had many.  I love that about him.  This particular story, if I recall it correctly, and I may not; certainly I have forgotten some of the main players, but I know the gest of it is correct.  I believe he was working for TRA at the time and they were at the Annual School in Bryan College Station.  On the way down there, he and whomever was in the car with him drove past a facility which has a sign for "Free Firewood".  Not wanting to pass up an opportunity, they filled the trunk of the TRA vehicle with firewood.  According to Robert, the car was riding nose up as if it were about to be launched...the trunk was full.  When they arrived at the school, they were met by their bosses at the time and were told to the airport some very important TRA dignitaries.  To their surprise there were three individuals with plenty of luggage.  Not wanting to let anyone know what was in the trunk of the car, they made believe they had lost the key to the trunk.  The three VIPs were piled into the rear seat with all their luggage piled up on top of them for the  ride.  The road was rough and Robert could see the gentlemen in the rear view mirror,  packed in like sardines, bouncing up and down, luggage flying everywhere.....I can still hear Robert tell the story.....his face turning red with the laughter telling it......Everything turned out o.k and it was on that day that I knew, Robert was a genuine, good natured human being.  I respected him and I admired his achievements.  Robert made an impact and difference in the life of many.  He will never be forgotten.

I will miss you, my friend of 48 years, although our connection has faded since I retired. Robert you are a true friend with whom I had many laughs, learning experiences and fun. 

My respect for you is endless, and I will continue to s pray for Sonia, Gary and Rob and your family that they can get through the grief.

RIP my friend.

I worked directly for Robert for 12 years at Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and in-directly for 20 years at the Fort Worth Water Department. Robert was a true leader and professional in his work, a great family man, a kind and thoughtful man, and my mentor for many years in our work with wastewater sludge/biosolids.  Robert wanted me to get involved with organizations (EPA, Water, TNRCC)  and speak at conventions, etc. on our work we were doing in the area of Biosolids fertilization. I was reluctant somewhat and was not a very good speaker at first, but Robert always encouraged me, and supported me always. I can never thank him enough for that. One of my memories of Robert  was on the eve of Y2K (New Years Eve of January 1, 2000) everyone across the world was worried about how the beginning of a  new century (from 1900 to 2000) would effect computers, plant controls and operations, so Robert called for all Plant personnel to be at the Plant at midnight to make sure the plant could still safely treat the wastewater if we lost, power, computer control etc.  Right before midnight, Robert and I drove to the top of the "levee" surrounding the Plant to look around to the surrounding Cities to see if the lights would go out at midnight.  Nothing happened and Robert and I laughed with him saying " here we are at midnight, the beginning of a new century and a new year. We are not with our wives or our families, but we are out here on top of a "levee" at a Wastewater Treatment Plant looking for the lights to go out, what a way to start out a new century." Robert was a good man! May he rest in peace with our Lord in Heaven.

I had the privilege to have worked for Robert for over 25 years with the City of Ft Worth. I always consider him a mentor that help me throughout my career .  He was one of the most knowledgeable people and a leader that was always willing to do anything to promote and improve the industry. He was a dedicated servant and performed outstanding service to the citizens of Ft. Worth and surrounding area. He was a excellent cook.  For 25 years, we had a monthly penny ante poker game.  When at Robert's house, he  would always have a very good meal, good wine, funny stories, and most of the time, he would win the money. He loved Vegas and nothing was more fun than when Robert was on one of his hot rolls. We had some great times camping and hiking with him at Big Bend Natl. Park.  Robert was an example of what a family man should be. Ours prayers and sympathy for Sonia, Gary, Rob and Family. He will be truly missed.

Robert was another sterling example of fatherhood in our neighborhood growing up in Euless. Later in my life, I had the pleasure of dealing with him professionally as well as personally in his capacity with the City of Fort Worth Water Department and the Trinity River Authority. He was always the consummate professional and great advisor. His charm will be missed.

ROBERT WAS THE VERY BEST FRIEND I EVER HAD.HE WAS A WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND FATHER.
I CAN AND WILL FOREVER REMBER ROBERT AND HIS GRANDSON BRYAN. HE AND I SPENT A LOT OF TIME AT THE RANGER BALL GAMES WITH HIS SONS. HIS FAMILY TREATED  MY WIFE AND I ,AS WE WERE FAMILY. MANY HAPPY  TIMES WERE SPENT CELEBRATING HOLIDAYS AND BIRTHDAYS AS A FAMILY .WE LOST A GOOD FRIEND AND PERSON AND HEAVEN RECEIVED A GOOD CHRISTIAN PERSON.
I AM SURE THE LORD GAVE ROBERT A FRONT ROW SEAT TO ALL THE COWBOY AND RANGER BALL GAMES.

I am grateful that I knew Robert.  He is so well respected and he will always be remembered very fondly.

Robert  was a good friend for over 60 years, a good man, classmate, as well as one of the finest people I know.  His devotion to his family is an example of what husbands & fathers should be.  He will always have a place in my memories of life.  

As a young engineer, I had the pleasure of serving with Robert on several national committees. His professionalism, manner and kindness left an indelible impression on me. He was a great mentor. He touched the lives of many and I am saddened by his passing. I am certain that he will be missed. Rest In Peace.

Robert will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Sonia; their sons, Gary and wife Patty, Rob and wife Toni; grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Sarah, Tara and Ivy; sister, Mariana Robertson and husband Charles. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Bryan.
