She was born in Wichita Falls, TX on July 28th, 1952 to William Harold Peters & Estelle Peters.
Nancy grew up in Hurst and attended St George Catholic school, where she was active in Bluebirds and the girl scouts. After graduating from Nolan Catholic High School in 1970, she then attended Tarrant County College.
She was married to the love of her life, Willard “Bill” Gray on July 31st, 1976. In Bill & Nancy’s 24 years of marriage, they had one daughter together, Debra. In marrying Bill, Nancy gained three daughters, Kimberly, Kelly, & Kristine, and loved them as her own.
Nancy worked as a Realtor for the past 20 years, where she found great satisfaction in building relationships with her clients. Nancy especially cherished the friendships she made at the Remax Unlimited and then Remax Trinity offices. Before becoming a Realtor, Nancy worked from home as a court reporter Scopist long before most people had that opportunity.
Nancy was a lifetime member of PTA, where she volunteered countless hours for Bell Manor Elementary, the HEBISD clothes closet, and sat on several executive boards. Nancy could often be found pouring candles, crafting, or cooking. She enjoyed making things with her hands and cooking for a crowd whether it be a holiday or a family Sunday dinner. Nancy opened her home to many over the years and in doing so, she built everlasting bonds with her family. She loved cheering from the stands, watching from the audience, working the concession stand or volunteering in any capacity, making her “Mema” to so many, both family & friends alike.
Nancy has left a legacy of love in her family. She is the glue that has held us together. Her example of sacrifice and compassion will long outlive her. Her faith, kindness & intentionality will survive through us for generations to come.
A service for Nancy will take place January 14th, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Celebration Community Church, located at 908 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104.
