Mark Rene Mata, 67, of Fort Worth, passed away on April 18, 2024. He was born in East Los Angeles, California on August 3, 1956. Mark graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Mark, a proud veteran of the Marines and Navy, worked as a pilot and flight instructor for American Airlines. He was a member of the Allied Pilots Association and had a passion for travel, cooking, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Suzan Mata; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Alex Bumpas, and their children, Henry and Logan; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Jr. and Rachel Mata; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Ryan Marquardt, and their children, Rileigh, Augustine (Augie), Blake, and Theodore (Teddy); daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Michael Reel, and their children, Mathis and Mila; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bobby Smith, and their children, Davonte, Devin, Bobby Jr., Payton, and Elizabeth; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Fernando Nuñez, and their children, Rosslyn, Jay, Tristan, and Julien. He is also survived by his former spouse Marisol Muñiz Mata; Half-siblings Bobby, Richard, and William Mata, Melody Ornelas; Siblings, Imelda Noon, Melanie Glazier, Vanessa Hoskinson, Stephanie Ramos-Cornell, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Gloria Chavez, beloved father, William D. (Memo) Mata and beloved mother Eloise Gonzales.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home as follows;
Visitation: April 30th, 5-8 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Colleyville TX.
Funeral: May 1st, 12 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Colleyville TX.
Burial: May 1st, 2:15 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX.
