Marilyn Brown Acuff was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on September 23, 1933 to Kenneth and Maxine Brown. She had two older brothers, Gene and Jerry, who she adored and who looked after her. After graduating high school she met her true love, Walter Eldon Acuff, and they were married on November 4th, 1951. They had four beautiful daughters which she raised and devoted her complete time to before she started her first career as a church secretary at Bellevue Baptist Church in Hurst, TX. She then studied for and retained her real estate license and became an outstanding realtor, and eventually a successful broker, before retiring in 2015.
Marilyn was a devout Christian, a selfless woman, who lived a life giving to others while serving her God every day. She loved Walter with a passion, as he did her. They built a wonderful life together, raising their four daughters in Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Abilene, and finally settling in the H-E-B area. She supported Walter and his career dreams, and followed him wherever his opportunities were presented. She loved all of her daughters, and supported each and every one of them in their hopes and dreams of life. She was a selfless person who received her happiness in life by giving to and doing for others. That was her calling, and she fulfilled this gift from God time and time again throughout her life. After retirement, she honored both her and Walter’s parents by caring for them in her home until they were called home. This is the kind of loving and giving woman that Marilyn was, and it defined her entire life. She had the most beautiful smile, and she always brought joy and laughter to any occasion. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
