Lillian Marie Tidwell Grant, best known to all as 'Marie', beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest role was being mother to four children, Nanny to 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was the happiest when we were all at her home together, eating, sleeping all over the house and best of all when we went to church together. She loved cooking, sewing, going to garage sales, and especially reading her Bible.
Marie passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She said Al told her it was time to come join him.
Marie was born November 21, 1922, to Lee and Pearle Emery Tidwell, in Annona, Texas, before moving to Grapevine, Texas. She married Alva Edison 'Al' Grant, the love of her life, on January 4, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma. In 1956 they moved to Hurst, Texas where she lived till her death.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years and 7 months, her parents, and six brothers.
She is survived by her son, Tim and Kathy Grant, of Hurst, Tx; daughters, Shirley Farrell of Hurst, Tx; Sandi and Deryle Matthews of Quincy, Wa; and Pamela and Mike Rash of Longview, Tx; two sisters, Rhamah Jo Wood of Grapevine, Tx; and Nancy Widner of Graham, Tx. As well as her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and her church family that she loved so much.
Visitation will be Monday February 17th, 6-8pm, her funeral service will be Tuesday, February 18th, 10am, both at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Colleyville, Texas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Legacy church of Christ, where she was a member for over 60 years.
