Joyce Beverly Ingle

SOUTHLAKE -- Joyce Beverly Ingle passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 21, 2014, after a long-term illness. Celebration of life: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: Donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org, or Bridgeway Hospice Health Services, 1501 Summit Ave., Suite 250, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Born on Jan. 6, 1931, in Los Angeles, Calif., Joyce was destined to follow her heart's desire to become an actress. For many years Joyce acted in the theater, made countless commercials and had roles in numerous movies. Joyce and Bob Ingle helped open one of the first live theaters in Fort Worth during the 1970s. She was an active member and on the board of directors at the Dallas Screen Actors Guild. One of her greatest joys in life was her family, which was always a big part of her heart and soul. Joyce was a vivacious woman who loved life with a passion and was devoted to her husband, Bob, married just shy of 65 years. She was an avid oil painter, received multiple awards and sold numerous art pieces throughout the years. She took great pride in her culinary skills and shared her home on countless occasions entertaining her family and friends. Over the years, playing and competing in bridge tournaments gave her another circle of good friends. Bob and Joyce had the opportunity to travel throughout the world and experience many cultures. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia James; her sister, Laura James, and two sons-in-law, Steve Hartnett and Ron Cortez, both of whom she always considered as her own sons. Survivors: Husband, Robert "Bob" Ingle; children, Cynthia Hoggatt and husband, Don, Sandy Hartnett, Valorie Ingle, Kim Cortez and Rob Ingle; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Lawrence Edward James and wife, Maureen, of Whittier, Calif.
