Celebrating the Dynamic Life of Glen R. Lucas
With both heavy hearts and immense gratitude, we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Glen R. Lucas, a spirited individual whose boundless energy and compassion touched the lives of countless individuals. Glen, who passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2023, leaves a legacy of love, generosity, and a feisty spirit that will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
Glen's journey began on February 7th, 1940, and from that moment, he embarked on a life dedicated to helping others. His unwavering commitment to making a positive impact became evident early on as he reached out to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He served not only his friends and family but also his country in the Vietnam War. He owned several businesses, including Glen's Exxon and Quality Car Service, where he helped people with their vehicles. His feisty spirit, coupled with a heart full of warmth and friendliness, created an atmosphere of joy wherever he went.
Glen is survived by his devoted wife, Ruby Lucas, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter, love, and abundant shared memories. His children, Glenda Brooks, Tracy Lucas and spouse Jodie, Susan Baker and spouse Steve, and Randall Lucas, were the pride and joy of his life. Glen's legacy extends to his eight grandchildren Michael Brooks, Victoria (Torie) Brooks, Hunter Garrett Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Jordan Griffin, Brandon Baker, Emily Bain, and Cody Baker, and ten great-grandchildren, Kailey Bonner, Kaden Brooks, Isiah Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, Vivianna Herrera, Emerson Brooks, Eleanor Brooks, Elam Brooks, Hughston Brooks and Blayne Brooks, who were the apples of his eye, carrying forward his zest for life.
A family man through and through, Glen was not only a loving father and grandfather but also a cherished sibling. He leaves behind his siblings Charles (Joe) Lucas, Edith (Nell) Lucas, and Peggy Lucas-Samaniego, who will forever treasure the bonds they shared growing up. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Ura Lucas, siblings Lawrence Lucas, BJ Lucas, Geneva Patterson, Lucy Hammett, Barbara Ann DeBore, Jame (Luke) Lucas, Carolyn O’Neal, and Larry Wayne Lucas.
Glen's impact radiates beyond his immediate family, reaching into the lives of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to call him a companion. His selflessness knew no bounds, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Glen's life will be celebrated on Thursday, December 28th, at Noon at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX. Visitation on Wednesday, December 27th, from 5 pm to 7 pm will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together, share stories, and rejoice in the memories of a man who truly made an impact.
As we say goodbye to Glen R. Lucas, let us remember him not only with tears but with smiles, for he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
