Charles Edwin Pritchett went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. He was at home sitting in his favorite chair when God called him home to be with Him. Charles was a good man who took care of his family. He was born on May 13th, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas to Noah and Emma Pritchett. He was known by family and friends as Corky.
He was raised on the northside of Fort Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake. He attended JP Elder Grammar School and graduated in 1956 from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School. He met the love of his life, Mary Lou, in Corpus Christi, Texas while both families were there fishing. Mary Lou would always catch more fish than him. Charles was born and raised in Texas. He loved the Texas Longhorn Football Team; Mary Lou was from Oklahoma and loved the Oklahoma Sooners. It became a rivalry each year during the Texas and OU game. Charles married Mary Lou on December 19th, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Charles worked at General Motors Parts Division for 31 years. Starting at the plant located at Harry Hines Blvd in the early 1960's, and then GM moved to Regal Row for many years, and then moved the facility to Everman, where he was blessed to have taken an early retirement at the age of 55.
Charles loved football and baseball. He loved attending and watching the Texas Rangers. While attending the ball games at Arlington Stadium, he would be the first one to go after a foul ball, and come up with it. His favorite things to do in the later years of his life was feeding the birds and squirrels that would come in the backyard. There was one squirrel, in particular, that he named Stubby because of her short tail. She would climb the 15 ft. pole that held a birdhouse and use it for her house. She would stay right by his side when he was in the yard.
Charles attended Sheppard Drive Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior on May 16th, 1997. He loved attending Sheppard Drive.
