Carolyn was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 28, 1953. She was the devoted wife of David W. Lee who showed her every day that he loved her with all of his heart.
Her beautiful voice was often the highlight of Sunday morning services as she served by David’s side in the Gospel ministry. She attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School and began her early career with State Farm Insurance before she jumped at the chance for early retirement to become a full-time “Doodah” to her six beloved grandsons.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her devoted mother, Lillian Nunes Terrell.
She is survived by her father, World War II Navy Veteran and Retired Pastor, Edgar Arvil Terrell; her loving husband, Dr. David W. Lee of Mansfield, Texas; her children David W. Lee, Jr. and wife Terrie of New Caney, Texas; Cheryl Quisenberry and her husband Robert of Mansfield, Texas; and Curt Landers and his wife, Reagan of Cedar Hill, Texas.
She nurtured six grandsons through their early years with her loving heart and energetic spirit. Grandsons include Connor Landers and his wife Bella Landers, Zachary Fuller, Carlton Lee, Cooper Quisenberrry, Tyler Quisenberry, and Luke Landers in addition to two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Landers and Chloe Landers.
Carolyn is also survived by her sister, Sandra Leavelle, and husband Benny and her brother, Joe Terrell, and wife Hallye; nieces and nephews, and their families- Jeromy Leavelle, Ashley Norman, Jack Terrell, and Gillian Terrell. She is also survived by Betty Lee, her mother in law and the extended Lee family in Winnsboro, Texas. Carolyn is survived by a large number of extended church families including many at Red Springs Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas, and her current church family at Pleasant Glade Baptist Church in Colleyville, Texas.
She enjoyed cruising around the Caribbean and all things shopping. She was an amazing cook and owned an impressive collection of crockpots and kitchen utensils. Her love of collecting gadgets continued to electronic devices where she always stayed well ahead of her children and grandchildren with all of the latest technology and video games. Carolyn will be greatly missed by Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Lines, QVC, HSN, Amazon, and UPS!
