Bill cherished the love of his life and his precious bride of 67 years, Peggy—and by doing so, he symbolized how a husband should love his wife.
Bill so loved his children Holli, Mikel, and Jay, and their spouses, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill exemplified his love for his kids and grandkids by actively and joyfully participating in each of their lives—illustrating how a father should love his children.
Bill also loved his Country. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War—and by doing so, Bill demonstrated the importance of selfless service to others.
Most importantly, Bill loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all his heart, mind, and soul. He demonstrated his love for the Lord by living a wholesome, joyful, and blessed life—and by doing so, he glorified God each and every day and provided all who knew him a shining example of a life well lived.
We all miss Bill terribly, but we find peace knowing that Bill is in Heaven and has been reunited with his loving son, Jay, his parents, his siblings, and so many of his friends that were there to welcome him home.
Bill will be laid to rest in a private committal service at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on September 24, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, Bill and his family encourage you to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
