She was born at home on June 24, 1932 in Tekamah, Nebraska to Tom and Margaret Doty. After the tragic loss of her father in 1936, Alice, her mother and brothers moved to California to be with family. She grew up in Ivanhoe, California. In 1955 she met her future husband, Calvin Bauder at a USO dance in San Jose, California. After a three month courtship, they married on July 3, 1955.
Alice was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing dresses for her sister Linda, and her daughters. Alice enjoyed many hobbies including cross-stitching, stained glass and crocheting. While her and her family lived in New York she was involved with the Methodist church, made many friends and became involved in craft shows, antiques and became president of her church's thrift store, Second Hand Rose.
Alice is survived by her sister Linda Niccum and her family of Santa Clara, California, her brother James Doty and his family of Hollister, California, her four daughters, Patricia Bauder of Colleyville, Texas, Holly Hamilton of Atascocita, Texas, Robin Anderson of Corinth, Texas, and Mary Jo Weldon of Beaumont, California; her son-in-law Frank Anderson, and her grandchildren, Margaret Hamilton and Ryan Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Bauder in 2017, her parents Tom and Margaret Doty, and her brothers, Bobby Doty and John Doty.
A private, graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Interment will immediately follow.
