Wanda May Magee

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Wanda was born January 28, 1932 in Magnolia the daughter of Burrel Marten and Laura (Coe) Dulany. She attended Decker Prairie Schools in Magnolia, then Tomball High School until her family moved to Gonado, Texas graduating from Gonado High School. After high school she attended Wharton Junior College taking business classes.

Wanda met and married Charles David “C.D.” Magee. She helped C.D. run his Oilfield Trucking/Rig moving business, as a bookkeeper. Some of the workers said, “Wanda was just as much the boss as C.D. was”. Wanda was a warm, caring woman always willing to help those in need. Countless members of the family, friends and the Bryan-College Station Communities have been blessed by Wanda’s love and generosity. She supported many charities, most especially St. Jude’s. Wanda always had a special place in her heart for children. It gave her great joy to contribute something meaningful to a child’s life. She had a warm smile and a loving heart. She took great joy in gifting people with “just a little something” that would bring a smile to their face and joy to their hearts. She will be missed.

Wanda was an active volunteer with St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She served as President on the Auxiliary Board 2007. She enjoyed working with all who helped volunteer. As a surprise, she and other volunteers were treated to a VIP tour and lunch to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. An extra special surprise to Wanda after the visit, she received a letter from Barbara Bush.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.D. Magee; daughters, Regina Magee and Charisse Adams; sister, Bobbie Nagel and brother, Burrel Dulany Jr.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Lana Jean Dulany; sister-in-law, Gloria Dulany; son-in-law, Harold “Rock” Adams; and numerous other family members.
