Robert is survived by his wife, Linda (Orender) Birdwell; his children, Anthony Birdwell and Robbie Birdwell; and his siblings, Richard Birdwell Jr., Randall Birdwell, Russell Birdwell, and Rhonda Neel.
On September 12, 1975, Robert began his service with Platoon 3072, U.S. Marine Corps. He served his country until 1981. Robert was a skilled machinist and loved his work and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing with his friends and family and riding four wheelers. He was a great problem solver and believed in hard work and providing for his family.
Robert will be laid to rest at a graveside service with military honors at 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Aggie Field of Honor in Memorial Cemetery of College Station.
