Geneva Curlee Servier, 101, entered into rest on March 4, 2014 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Unit in Bryan. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. There will be a private family interment at the Itasca Cemetery at a later date.
Geneva was born May 23, 1912 in Itasca, Texas the oldest of five children born to Grover Cleveland Curlee and Mamie Jane (Jameson) Curlee. She graduated from Itasca High School in 1930 and received a Bachelors’ Degree from Texas Wesleyan College in 1950 and a Masters’ Degree in Education from North Texas State University in 1971. Mrs. Sevier taught elementary school for 45 years before her retirement.
Mrs. Sevier was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was an avid sports fan of the Aggies, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers and enjoyed playing 42 and Skip the Boat.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Sevier and all four of her siblings.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Wilkinson and Dave of College Station; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Sevier and Marlene of Buda; four grandchildren, Paula Campbell, David Wilkinson, Amber Clark, and Brandi Ripple; and nine great grandchildren.
If friends desire, memorials may be made in Geneva’s honor to Hospice Brazos Valley.
