She received her bachelor's degree in Education from Western Connecticut State College where she met and married her classmate Richard I Brown. Together they had two sons; Richard Ir and Roger. She graduated from Harvard with a Master's degree in education. She was an awesome leader and member of several organizations- too numerous to mention here. Since her move to Atlanta her most recent organizations were: The Colorful Arts Society, Southern Story Tellers, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She was also a Docent at the High Museum of Arts in Atlanta, and author of three books; Mama Tales, Bleat's Christmas, and Cassie's Quest.
Our beloved Erni lived life as she was talented, energetic as well as adventurous, forceful, and highly educated. You might think these superlatives are numerous but let us not forget that she also was verbose and faithful to God. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives have been touched by her love and her courage, her loyalty, her graciousness, generosity, and abiding friendship.
She worked tirelessly in her community and it was quite evident that she loved her family and that is why she will always be our beloved Erni. She is survived by her 2 sons, Grandson, 4 great grandchildren
A memorial service for Ernestine will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnfuneralhomemg.com for the Brown family.
