Joan M. Dunn, 86, of Titusville, FL passed away Monday, January 11, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joan and her husband bought a home in 1992 to spend winters in Florida, and moved to Florida full time after retiring in 1995 from Miller Place School District where she was the head cook for the school system.
Joan was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Miller Place Fire Department. Joan was the President of the Oak Point Ladies Club and also a member of the Oak Point Homeowner’s Association. She was a religious education teacher for 20 years at St. Louis de Montfort Roman Catholic Church in Sound Beach, NY.
Joan was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Dunn. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bernard J. Dunn; two sons: James Dunn and Thomas Dunn (Laurie); four daughters: Joanne Wagner (Don), Patricia Cappella (John), Katherine Caiaccia (Michael), and Bernadette Fitzpatrick (Mark); 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 2-4 PM and also from 7-9PM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
