Herb was born on February 1, 1937 in Winter Haven, FL to Ernest and Mary Stanfield, the youngest of four children. He grew up with a loving family and many friends and eventually met the love of his life, they married in 1959 and began their life together.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, brother Robert Stanfield, sister Mildred Wasden, mother in law, Ruth Duett and many other extended family members.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 happy years Margaret Stanfield, brother Edward Stanfield, son Herb Stanfield, Jr. (Chelsea), daughter Karen Naylor, grandchildren Tara Marie, Nikki (Derick), Joshua, Tara Leigh (Paul) and Phillip, great grandchildren Audrina, Lucas, Lily and Ellie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Herb worked at Pantry Pride supermarket as a meat market manager for 20 years, which brought the family to Merritt Island in 1967 where they put down roots and still remain. He then changed career paths and worked in the construction industry, side by side with his family for more than 30 years until he retired.
He had a strong work ethic, integrity and compassion. He loved wood working and was always building something. He was an excellent cook, most gatherings you could find him tending the grill, his BBQ ribs were beyond compare. However his greatest passion was his family and he made sure they knew he adored them with all his heart.
Herb will be laid to rest on Saturday, November 26, 2022, visitation at 12:00 and services at 1:00, at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, burial to follow at Brevard Memorial Park 5475 N. US Highway 1 Cocoa, FL 32927.
