Andrew Charles Stathes

Andrew was born May 3, 1929 in Patras, Greece to Charles and Theoni Stathopoulos. He was the oldest of 4 children and immigrated to the The Bronx New York in 1946 and eventually to Jamaica, New York. His siblings, Sandra, George and Chris all passed away the last few years.

Andy graduated from George Washington High School in The Bronx, then served 2 years in the army, stationed in Korea. When he returned from service he married Sadie Ectoras in October of 1953 where they had 5 children. They spent many years raising Charlie, Chris, Nick, Maryann and Jim in Brooklyn, New York. Andy and Sadie were active members of Saint Demetrios Church in Jamaica, New York.

Andy had many careers in downtown Manhattan, retiring from the Insurance Industry at age 65. He spent the next 30 years in Florida.

Andy is survived by his 5 children, 5 beloved Grandchildren - Jerry, Janet, Christine, Andrew and Johnny and 4 beloved Great Grandchildren - Ava, Blake, Theodore and Charlee.

Wake/viewing Sunday 22nd of September 5:00 -7:00 pm at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home 1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy Merritt Island.

Church Service will be on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church 5965 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne at 11:00 am followed by burial at Brevard Memorial Park, 320 Spring, St Cocoa, FL. at 1:00pm.
