The dash between birth and passing is the life of Robert Garza.
Born in Palacios Texas, September 9th 1958,to Lucy and Cesario Garza. One sister, Martha Garza Cook.
Robert attended Brazosport High School. After graduating from The University of Houston in 1982, he enlisted and spent four years in the United States Air Force. After leaving the service, he joined Dow Chemical and went on to spend his career at BASF, retiring as a production supervisor.
His family grew. Wife Alice Garza; Daughter Amy Crystal Gonzalez (Husband Jose Gonzalez); Son Charles Phillip Garza (Wife Pamela Gonzalez Garza); Grandchildren Caius Phillip Garza and Donovan Rene Garza; Niece Kristina Cook Stephenson (Husband Joe Stephenson) .
Robert loved to travel but always made time for his family and friends. You'd often find him with his loved ones round the breakfast table at AR's in Freeport. He was a keen Astros and U of H fan, which he passed down to his son, and then grandsons. Robert was a man of few words, but his easy smile left you warm in his presence. He spent the last years of his life where he was happiest; with his grandchildren, not missing a soccer game or time at the park.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Cesario Garza; and sister Martha Garza Cook.
Pallbearers Justen Buckheit, Blas Torres, Gary Gomez, Danny Gomez, Ray Silguero Jr.,and Frank Soria.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Restwood Funeral Home on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M.
