Captain Lindbergh F. Holden was born on August 22, 1925 in Supply, North Carolina, and passed away on April 18, 2013 in Lake Jackson at the age of 87. He was a well known and respected Captain throughout the Gulf and East Coast. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II on the Aircraft Carrier Bellawood. He viewed his greatest achievements of 87 years to be : His service to the Lord, His service to his country, and his loving guidance to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Augustus and Bertha Pierce Holden, by his three brothers: Wilbur Holden, Carl Holden, and Quinten Holden, and two sisters: Lillian Fulfort and Emily Hughes, and by his son in law Michael Bly. He is survived by his “ Queenie “ Marietta Holden, his wife of 56 years of Freeport, Tx., by his three daughters: Lynnette Harvill and her husband Woody of Lake Jackson, Tx., Ruth Bly of Freeport, Tx., and Beth Vanderhoofven and her husband Wes of Katy, Tx., and by his grandchildren: Misti Flores and her husband Bobby, Trey Harvill and Nicole Vanderhoofven, and by his great grandson Ethan Flores, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
